Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention relate to the field of communications. Provided are a random access method and apparatus, which can resolve the problem of unavailability of PRACH resources allocated by an eNB because an LAA cell fails to preempt a channel or a time period in which a preempted channel is allowed to be used is ended in a process in which a UE randomly accesses the LAA cell. The method comprises: a user equipment acquires first information, the first information being used for indicating that a subframe of physical random access channel (PRACH) resources accessing an unlicensed spectrum LAA cell is one or more available subframes after the LAA cell successfully preempts a channel; the user equipment receives a first indication sent by a first base station, the first indication being used for indicating that the LAA cell successfully preempts a channel, and the first base station being a base station to which the LAA cell belongs; and after receiving the first indication, the user equipment initiates random access according to the first information.
