Abstract:
The present application provides a random access method and device. The method comprises: a terminal determining a service attribute of data to be transmitted, wherein the service attribute comprises one or more of: a service type attribute, a service data packet attribute, and a service delay attribute; and if the service attribute satisfies a preset early data transmission condition, the terminal transmitting a random access request to the network device by using an early data transmission dedicated resource. Thus, early data transmission is initiated only after a service attribute satisfies a preset early data transmission condition, such that instances of initiating early data transmission can be reduced, thereby saving resources. Furthermore, success rates of early data transmission can be increased.
