Abstract:
Disclosed is a random access method, wherein effective switching between a 2-step random access process and a 4-step random access process can be realized. The method comprises: during the 2-step random access process, a terminal device sending a first message of the 2-step random access process; and if a second message of the 2-step random access process is still not received when the number of times the first message of the 2-step random access process is sent reaches a first threshold value, the terminal device switching to the 4-step random access process.
