Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to generate, using a simple configuration, random numbers matched to the size of fluctuations in measured values obtained at the time of operation, and control the cost increase for a device as a whole. With an information processing device (10), a fluctuation estimation unit (13) acquires from a noise source (ns) a plurality of measured values having bits of M digits, where M is an integer exponent of a power of two. A bit extraction unit (14) acquires information relating to a number of effective bits of N digits used in generating a random number, where N is an integer less than M, based on the acquired plurality of values. Using the information relating to the number of effective bits, a bit coupling unit (15) generates a random number having effective bits of L digits, where L is a predetermined integer less than or equal to N.
