Abstract:
A ranging apparatus comprises: a light emitting device for emitting, toward a scene, a plurality of light beams in different directions and at different times; a light receiving device including an array of a plurality of photodetectors for detecting, using the plurality of photodetectors, light resulting from the emission of each of the light beams and reflected from the scene; and a signal processing circuit for generating and outputting output data including measurement data indicating positions or distances of a plurality of points in the scene on the basis of signals outputted from the light receiving device. The output data includes data of a plurality of blocks, each of which includes the measurement data of some of the plurality of points. Each of the plurality of blocks is given specific time data.
