Abstract:
This ranging system is provided with: a plurality of light sources including a first light source (101) and a second light source (102); a light source control unit (103) which controls the timing at which each of the plurality of light sources radiates light, and a radiation period thereof; an image capturing unit (104) which, from reflected light that originates from each of the plurality of light sources and has been reflected by a subject, generates a distance image relating to the corresponding reflected light; a reliability output unit (105) which outputs a reliability for each distance image; and an image combining unit (106) which combines the plurality of distance images. The plurality of light sources radiate light at mutually different angles with respect to the optical axis of the image capturing unit (104). Radiation ranges of each of the plurality of light sources include a common radiation range (110) in which radiation occurs in common, said common radiation range comprising part but not all of each radiation range. In relation to regions outside the common radiation range (110), pixels to be combined are selected by the image combining unit (106) exclusively from each of the plurality of distance images, and in relation to the region inside the common radiation range (110), the image combining unit (106) determines which pixels to combine on the basis of the reliability, thereby generating a combined distance image (304).
