Abstract:
When a non-equilibrium ThMn12-type intermetallic compound formed by rapid quenching is converted into a magnet, no low melting liquid phase is formed so that there is a problem in densification.
In the present invention, a liquid phase with a melting point of about 820°C can be formed by adding a trace amount of Cu to a quaternary system comprising Sm-Y-Fe-Co as main components and thus densification can be promoted in the process of producing a bulk magnet.
