Abstract:
Provided is a ratchet buckle for helmets in which a fastening/release member having a fastening unit is attached to the buckle between a base member and an operational member by means of a pin, and the fastening of the teeth of the ratchet is released by the operational member being raised and rotated in a counter-clockwise direction, the forward end of the operational member contacting the forward end of the fastening/release member, and the fastening unit of the fastening/release member rotating, which enables the distance the operational member is raised to release the fastening to be at least twice the distance as that of the prior art. As a result, it is possible to make the provided ratchet buckle for helmets thinner, and to ensure safety in that the helmet does not fall off a head due to incorrect or accidental lever operation.
