Abstract:
[Problem] To provide: a heat-shrinkable polyester film which has a high degree of width-direction heat shrinkage and a low degree of longitudinal-direction heat shrinkage and which changes little in the degree of shrinkage through aging; and a raw material for producing the heat-shrinkable polyester film. [Solution] A raw copolyester material for amorphous films, characterized by satisfying the following requirements (1) to (4) and being for use in film production: (1) to contain ethylene terephthalate as a main constituent component and contain neopentyl glycol in an amount of 18-30 mol% with respect to the total amount, which is taken as 100 mol%, of the glycol components among all the polyester resin components; (2) to contain constituent units derived from diethylene glycol in amount of 8-16 mol% relative to the total amount, which is taken as 100 mol%, of the glycol components among all the polyester resin components: (3) to have an intrinsic viscosity of 0.70-0.86 dl/g; and (4) to have a melt viscosity, as measured at 250°C and a shear rate of 6080 /S, of 200 Pa∙S or less.
