A raw material feeding apparatus (14) which comprises a base (52), a raw material passage (54) formed on the base, at least one guide member (56, 58) provided on the raw material passage and having a raw material guide surface (56a, 58a), a direction correcting roller assembly (60) provided on the raw material passage, and a transfer roller mechanism (62) provided on the downstream side in a raw material feeding direction of the direction correcting roller assembly and adapted to hold and transfer the raw materials, wherein the direction correcting roller assembly (60) is provided with a pair of angular rollers (76) which have a common rotary shaft inclined with respect to the raw material guide surface of the guide member and which are rotated together, and a freely rollable ball (78) disposed so as to face the two angular rollers, supported resiliently in a working position close to the angular rollers and forming in the working position a clearance into which the raw material is insertable between the angular rollers and the ball, the direction correcting roller assembly (60) being adapted to hold the material between the two angular rollers (76) and the ball (78) and intermittently feed the raw material toward the guide member (56, 58).
