Description:
RE-SEAL ABLE STORAGE BAG FOR DISHWARE

CROSS REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION

This application is a continuation in part of provisional patent application No. 61/395,770 filed on May 18, 2010 entitled "Re-sealable Storage Bag For Dishware" and Provisional Application No. 61/463,867 filed on February 25, 2011 entitled " Re-sealable Storage Bag For Dishware.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to Re-sealable storage bag for dishware that is used as a cover for a plate or dishware to help keep food fresh and prevents leakage from plate or dishware.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

There are many product ideas that people use today to cover a lunch plate or leftover plate such as aluminum foil, Saran™ Wrap, but these products leak or do not provide a good seal around plate or dish. Storage bags of many shapes, sizes and materials have been used throughout history and are known in prior art. Storage bags have been used to store and preserve items in everyday life. However, most storage bags were not created to store wide items such as a plate. Granted there are larger storage bags with a wider opening that a plate could fit through. The Re-sealable Storage Bag For Dishware is different because it provides easy access to plate through mouth opening that allows user to fold mouth opening backward to get to food on plate without having to remove plate from storage bag. The Re-sealable storage bag for dishware was specifically designed to provide a re-sealable cover for plates and dishware. It has a circular shape with a curved sliding track with zipper to help accommodate plate or dishware. The sliding track could be made to extend half way around edge of storage bag or all the way around storage bag. The Re-sealable storage bag is not only ideal for the home, but great for the office and school and could be made with different colors and with tint to prevent others from seeing inside of storage bag . The Re-sealable storage bag when used with paper plates can keep the user from losing valuable dishware that most people tend to lend to others at gatherings. The Re-sealable storage bag acts as a dish cover for the microwave to help keep microwave clean. The Re-sealable storage bag could be made with lip enclosure around bottom mouth edge to prevent spillage from plate or dish.

The Re-sealable storage bag for dishware could be made with a zipper and sliding track around mouth of storage bag to seal and open mouth of bag or it can be made with re-sealable tape around mouth opening. Further, the Re-sealable storage bag for dishware could be made with an attached pocket across the outer surface of the storage bag or could be made with an attached carrying handle. The different attributes and components of the present invention are further described in more detail below.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to the need of individuals to keep their lunch plate or leftover food conveniently fresh longer in a spill resistant re-sealable storage bag.

The Re-sealable storage bag for dishware creates a tight seal around dish to prevent leakage from dishware or plate. It is disposable and could be used for the refrigerator, freezer or microwave. The present invention is composed of two sheets of thin plastic sealed together around a curved sliding track with zipper. The curved sliding track with zipper forms the mouth of bag. Further, the mouth of Re-sealable storage bag could use re-sealable tape or adhesive to open and seal mouth of storage bag. The re-sealable mouth opening folds backward and provides easy access to food on plate or dishware. Further, the Re-sealable storage bag could be made with a carrying handle to carry storage bag and a pocket attached to outer surface of storage bag to hold eating utensils.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the Re-sealable storage bag for dishware with utensil pocket and carrying handle for storage bag with a curved or circular shaped sliding track with zipper used to open and close mouth of Re-sealable storage bag.

FIG. 2 shows Re-sealable storage bag for dishware with curved sliding track and zipper with mouth of storage bag in open position.

FIG. 3 is a perspective view of the Re-sealable storage bag for dishware with carrying handle, utensil pocket and re-sealable tape or adhesive used to open and close mouth of storage bag.

FIG. 4 shows Re-sealable storage bag for dishware with re-sealable tape or adhesive with mouth of bag in open position.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE EMBODIMENTS FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the Re-sealable storage bag for dishware 1, having two sides a bottom and a top made of plastic that uses a zipper 2 with a curved sliding track 3 to form mouth of storage bag 1. The mouth of storage bag 1 is able to fold backward to provide easy access to food on plate or dishware without having to remove entire plate from storage bag 1. The zipper 2 is used with curved sliding track 3 to open and close mouth of storage bag 1. The circular design of the Re-sealable storage bag for dishware 1 allow it to fit most plates and dishware. However, the Re-sealable storage bag 1 could be made in different shapes and sizes. The Re-sealable storage bag 1 could be made with a pocket 4 attached to the surface of Re-sealable storage bag 1 to hold eating utensils. Also, the Re-sealable storage bag 1 could be made with a carrying handle 5 that consists of a thin flat strip of plastic with a loop that attaches to the face of the Re-sealable storage bag 1 . FIG. 2 shows the Re-sealable storage bag for dishware 1 using a curved sliding track 3 with zipper 2 in open position. The zipper 2 is moved across curved sliding track 3 to opposite side of storage bag 1 to open mouth of storage bag 1. The curved sliding track 3 has two sides that lock together and unlock when zipper 2 slides across curved sliding track 3 from left to right or right to left. The lip enclosure 6 is a thin sheet of plastic sealed around the circumference of the bottom mouth portion of Re-sealable storage bag 1 used to prevent spillage of liquid from dishware and to hold dishware in place. In the mouth area of storage bag 1, the inward edge of the lip enclosure 6 is pulled around and over the edge of the circumference of the plate to prevent spillage from plate. Moreover, FIG. 3 shows the Re-sealable storage bag 1 for dishware 1 with re-sealable tape 7 around mouth of Re-sealable storage bag 1. The re-sealable tape 7 has a sticky surface and is placed around outer edges of the inside portion of storage bag 1 mouth to allow bag to open and close when pressed together or pulled apart. FIG. 3 shows lip enclosure 6 visible through face of Re-sealable storage bag 1. FIG. 4 shows Re-sealable storage bag for dishware 1 in open position with re-sealable tape 7 around the inner circumference of bag mouth. Further, it should be understood that the foregoing pertains to the preferred embodiments of the present invention, and that numerous changes may be made to the embodiments described herein without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as defined in the following claims.
