Abstract:

A reaction device (1) includes a second flow passage (31) stacked parallel to a first flow passage (17), an introduction opening (35) which opens in a direction intersecting the second flow passage (31), and into which a heat medium is introduced, and a catalyst body (41) which is installed in the first flow passage (17) to promote an exothermic reaction of a reaction fluid. Assume a first reference position (PR1) which is tangential to a first open end (35a) of the introduction opening (35) on the side thereof which bends toward the second flow passage (31), and which is defined on the basis of a straight line extending in a direction intersecting the second flow passage (31), and a second reference position (PR2) which is tangential to a second open end (35b) of the introduction opening (35) on the opposite side to the first open end (35a), and which is defined on the basis of a straight line extending in a direction intersecting the second flow passage (31). At least a portion of the catalyst body (41) exists in at least one of a region demarcated by the first reference position (PR1) and the second reference position (PR2), and a region demarcated by the second reference position (PR2) and an inlet position (AP) of the first flow passage (17).
