Abstract:
Provided is a reaction device wherein degradation of catalysts can be reduced and a reaction vessel can be made shorter. A reaction device (10) is a reaction device in which a chemical reaction occurs in conjunction with heat production, and comprises a reaction vessel (20) through which a source material gas flows from an inlet toward an outlet, and catalysts (24, 26) that are contained in the reaction vessel, wherein the reaction device includes a first section (21), a second section (22), and a third section (23), in order along the direction of flow of the source material gas. Among the first section, the second section, and the third section, the second section reduces the activation energy of the chemical reaction the least. Additionally, in the reaction device, the temperature increases in the first section, the temperature decreases in the second section, and the temperature increases in the third section.
