Abstract:
This reaction force output device is provided with: a drive unit that, by transmitting a driving force of a motor to a drive member via a gear mechanism and driving the drive member, outputs, to an operation element that is operated by a driver, a force in the opposite direction to the direction of operation of the operation element; and a control unit that determines the amount of control applied to the drive unit on the basis of an input value supplied from the outside. The control unit, when increasing the amount of control in accordance with the input value, increases the amount of control progressively and retains the amount at a fixed value, and then increases the amount of control in steps.
