Abstract:
The present invention pertains to a reactive surfactant composition for emulsion polymerization, which can provide a polymer emulsion having a reduced particle size, and which enables a reduction in the added amount of the used reactive surfactant composition. The reactive surfactant composition for emulsion polymerization according to the present invention contains a reactive anionic surfactant (component A) represented by formula (I), wherein component A satisfies requirements R. (In the formula, AO represents an alkyleneoxy group having 3-18 carbon atoms, EO represents an ethyleneoxy group, p represents an integer of 1-15, m' represents an integer of 0 or more, n' represents an integer of 0 or more, M+ represents a hydrogen ion or a cation, and different AOs may coexist) Requirements R: the average number of moles m of AO added is 1-50; the average number of moles n of EO added is 0-200; X in formula (II) is less than 30 when, in component A, a component of which the number of moles of AO added is m - 3 or less is represented as component A-1, and a component of which the number of moles of AO added is m + 2 or more is are represented as component A-2, provided that if m is less than 3, component A-1 is defined as m' = 0. X = (the number of moles of component A-1 + the number of moles of component A-2) ÷ the number of moles of component A × 100 (II)
