A reactor (1) comprising: a coil (2) having a pair of coil elements (2a, 2b) joined together; a magnetic core (3) having a pair of inner core parts disposed respectively inside the coil elements (2a, 2b), and outer core parts (32) for linking the inner core parts and forming a closed magnetic path; and an insulator (5) interposed between the coil (2) and the magnetic core (3). The reactor also comprises a sensor (7) for measuring physical quantities when the reactor is operating, and a sensor holder (8) for holding the sensor, the sensor holder being configured from a member that is separate from the insulator (5). The coil elements (2a, 2b) are shaped as cylindrical bodies configured by winding wires (2w) into helical formations, have rounded corner parts where the end surface shapes are rounded at the corners, and are disposed in parallel so that the axes of the coil elements (2a, 2b) are parallel to each other. The sensor (7) is disposed in a trapezoidal space enclosed between the rounded corner parts disposed facing each other in the coil elements (2a, 2b).
