Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a reader and information-providing system that ensure convenience when reading, while reducing the effect of radio waves. [Solution] A reader 20 reads information from an RF tag 12 attached to a product P. The reader 20 is provided with a shield part 44 that has an opening 30 formed therein and accommodates the product P via the opening 30, and an antenna 60 that emits radio waves for communicating with the RF tag 12 attached to the accommodated product P. The reader 20 reads information from the RF tag 12 when the shield part 44 is open.
