Abstract:
The present invention relates to a reading desk used in a sitting or lying position. The reading desk includes: a housing disposed on a ceiling of a building, the housing having a box shape with a bottom opened; a winding roll disposed within the housing; a rotation part disposed at a side of the winding roll to forwardly or reversely rotate the winding roll; a pair of belts having one end connected to the winding roll to be wound or unwound and the other end extending downward to a pair of housings; and a book support of which the upper portion is connected to the other ends of the pair of belts, the book support ascending or descending by an operation of a motor to be inserted into the housing or exposed to the outside. Since the reading desk is fixedly disposed on a ceiling in bedrooms and rooms of hospitals or sanatoriums, a space for installing the reading desk may be easily secured. Also, since the reading desk is stored by ascending toward the ceiling when the reading desk is not used after the installation, the reading desk may be easily stored without obstructing walking. In addition, it is unnecessary to provide a separate storage space, and thus the reading desk is advantageous in terms of space utilization.
