Abstract:
The present invention relates to a reagent composition for measuring hemoglobin capable of diagnosing the presence or absence of anemia and a hemoglobin measurement method using same and, more specifically, to a reagent composition for measuring hemoglobin and a hemoglobin measurement method using same, the reagent composition comprising a hemolytic liquid which hemolyzes blood to release hemoglobin from red blood cells into fluid, and a blue dye for increasing measurement sensitivity. The hemoglobin measurement method according to the present invention comprises the steps of: (a) adding whole blood to a reagent composition for measuring hemoglobin, the reagent composition comprising a hemolysis buffer and a blue dye, to cause a reaction; (b) adding the reaction product to a measurement pad of a cartridge; and (c) measuring the optical reflectance of the measurement pad by using an optical device, to calculate the proportion of hemoglobin. The reagent composition for measuring total hemoglobin according to the present invention can calibrate the amount of hemoglobin by using, as a background, a blue dye having absorbance complementary to hemoglobin. That is, by measuring and calibrating the optical reflectance with high sensitivity by simultaneously irradiating a plurality of light sources, the impact of the loading amounts of blood and a reagent can be minimized.
