A real-time virtual reality acceleration method, comprising: acquiring an input image (101); dividing an output image buffer into M rows by N columns of rectangular grid blocks (103); calculating, according to anti-distortion, anti-dispersion and asynchronous time warping fusion algorithms, vertex coordinates of the input image grid blocks corresponding to the grid blocks of the output image buffer (105); calculating a 2D mapping coefficient of each pair of grid blocks in the output image buffer and the input image (107); calculating, according to the 2D mapping coefficient, coordinates of an input image pixel point corresponding to an output image pixel point (109); selecting at least four pixel points near the coordinates of the input image pixel point, so as to calculate a value of the output image pixel point (111); and outputting an image resulting from processing of anti-distortion, anti-dispersion, and asynchronous time warping algorithms (113). The invention divides an input image and an output image buffer into grid blocks, and performs, through 2D mapping, interpolation on vertex coordinates of input and output image blocks to achieve anti-distortion, anti-dispersion, and asynchronous time warping functions, reducing GPU load, bandwidth consumption, and latency, and providing a VR user experience without dizziness.
