Abstract:
A rearview mirror for a vehicle. The rearview mirror comprising a mirror housing (12), having a bottom opening (14). A reflective element (16), is located within the mirror housing 12, with the reflective element (16), being configured to reflect an image having a reflecting component in a first direction (20), out of the mirror housing. A light source (22), is also located within the mirror housing. The light source (22) emits light along a beam axis (24), with the beam axis (24) having a directional component in a second direction (26). A deviator (28) is configured to direct the light emitted from the light source through the bottom opening (14), of the housing. The first direction and the second direction are parallel and opposite.
