Abstract:
The present invention relates to a rebar coupler connecting rebars in a mechanical manner, and more particularly, to a rebar coupler using an oblong rotating wedge, which includes: a rebar insertion portion into which a rebar is inserted, the rebar insertion portion being a tubular body having an oblong cross-section; a sleeve where a bent receiving portion and a wedge insertion part are disposed in a transverse direction; and a wedge which is inserted into the wedge insertion part to fix the rebar to the sleeve, the wedge having an oblong cross-section and a spline in the longitudinal direction. Since the bent receiving portion is disposed at each of both ends of the largest diameter of the sleeve having the oblong cross-section, and the spline having a pointed peak is disposed in the longitudinal direction on the outer surface of the wedge having the oblong cross-section, the rebar is not separated from the sleeve even when a tensile load is applied to the rebar connected to the sleeve via the wedge, and the greater the tensile strength, the more the wedge rotates to couple the rebar more firmly with the sleeve.
