Abstract:
A receiver apparatus comprising a tentative determination part (12) for performing, based on a received signal, a tentative determination of a transmitted signal; a metric calculation part (13) for calculating a metric, based on a result of that tentative determination and received signal; a lattice point range setting/estimated symbol producing part (14) for forming, based on the metric obtained as a result of that calculation or an updated metric, a hyper sphere centered on a received signal point and for determining whether any candidates of estimated symbols exist in the hyper sphere; and a metric calculating/comparing part (15) for calculating the metric, based on the candidates of estimated symbols obtained as the result of that determination and the received signal, and for storing the smallest one of the metrics including past ones and also storing the candidates of the estimated symbols at the time of the smallest metric, and further for updating the stored information if a metric calculated anew is the smallest.
