Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to enhance visibility and convenience when an emergency news bulletin is broadcast while viewing a broadcast program. The receiving device is provided with: a receiving unit that receives a broadcast signal; a determination unit that determines whether or not a particular descriptor is included in the broadcast signal received by the receiving unit; a first processing unit that executes a function comprising at least a process to display predetermined information on a portion or the entirety of a display screen that displays a broadcast program via the broadcast signal; a second processing unit that terminates the function being executed in cases where it is determined by the determination unit that the particular descriptor is included in the broadcast signal while the function is being executed; and a third processing unit that restarts the function which the second processing unit has terminated.
