Abstract:
This technique relates to a reception apparatus, a reception method, a transmission apparatus, a transmission method and a program that enable application programs to be created in an optimum creation environment. An AIT acquisition/analysis unit acquires mapping information that associates a first directory structure, which is in a case of using a first transmission system to transmit a resource constituting an application program, with a second directory structure that is in a case of using a second transmission system to transmit a resource constituting an application program. When an application program constituted by a resource created in accordance with the first directory structure is to be transmitted by use of the second transmission system, a carousel processing unit uses the mapping information to associate the resource, which is created in accordance with the first directory structure, with the second directory structure, thereby acquiring the application program to be transmitted by use of the second transmission system. This technique can be applied to, for example, a television receiver.
