Abstract:
Provided are a reception device capable of accurately estimating an event detection time, and a method for estimating an event detection time, the method being used to accurately estimate the event detection time. A data reception unit (100) as the reception device is a device for estimating an event detection time (TMS_i'), and is provided with: a reception time measurement unit (102) which measures the time of reception by a reception interface unit (101); a reception time expected value calculation unit (103) which, from the reception time and a sampling period (Tsa), finds a reception time expected value (Ta_me_i) that is an expected value of a next reception time that is a time at which detected data is received next; a jitter amount estimation unit (107) which finds, as a system delay jitter amount (Tj_i), the amount of variation of a reception time (Tr_i) with respect to the reception time expected value (Ta_me_i); and an event detection time estimation unit (105) which, from a previously measured system delay time, the reception time expected value (Ta_me_i), and the system delay jitter amount (Tj_i), estimates the event detection time (TMS_i').
