Abstract:
This disclosure relates to a reception device, a reception method, and a program with which lower power consumption can be achieved. A Viterbi decoding unit performs Viterbi decoding of the likelihoods being processed, a byte de-interleaver delays some of the Viterbi decoding results, and an RS decoding unit performs RS decoding of the decoding results after the delay by the byte de-interleaver. A likelihood conversion unit controls likelihood decoding so that decoding result reliability is improved. A decoding stop determination unit determines that further decoding of the likelihoods being processed be stopped if all of a given number of decoding results in the RS decoding unit have succeeded or failed. This technology can be applied to reception devices that receive terrestrial digital broadcasting conforming to the ISDB-T standard, for example.
