Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a reception device and method and a transmission device and method with which it is possible to improve reproduction quality in a situation where packet losses occur. An MMTP packet header is defined as having a configuration in which an extended header can be written on the 16th to 22nd lines when extension_flag on the sixth line from the top is set to 1. In method 1, this is used to newly define the type of AU sequence number in extension_type and write the AU sequence number included in an MMTP packet in header_extension_byte. The present disclosure can be applied to, for example, a communication system for transmitting/receiving data by a transmission scheme used in IP transmission.
