Abstract:
As the results of analysis with the use of vascular endothelial cells, it is found out that VE cadherin serves as an endostatin receptor and binding of endostatin to VE cadherin induces the phosphorylation of VE cadherin and, in its turn, apoptosis of the endothelial cells. By selecting a compound capable of inhibiting the binding of the endostatin receptor to endostatin, an agonist or an antagonist of the endostatin receptor can be obtained.
