A reciprocating pedal driven power bicycle, including a frame, a braking mechanism, a driving rear wheel and a rear wheel axle, tires, pedals which are secured to handles and sector driving meshing gears, single-acting flywheels which mesh with the sector driving meshing gears and have meshing teeth. At each side of the frame there are a handle and its pedal, a sector driving meshing gear and a single-acting flywheel. The pedal is connected to the front end of the handle, while sector driving meshing gear is connected to the back end of the handle. An aperture is drilled through the handle between the two ends. A pin is connected to the frame. The handle is hinged to the frame via the aperture and the pin. The sector driving meshing gear has an internally toothed annulus or internally arced chains structure. The single-acting flywheel has teeth or chains in outer race. The handle is connected to the end surface or the outer race of the sector driving meshing gear. A side hook is provided to one side of the pedal. The invention has a lots of advantages, such as it is simple, practical, compact, comfortable and the drive efficiency is high, it also has the anti-rattle and anti-exploding functions.
