Title:
RECIPROCATING STEAM ENGINE WITH INTERNAL COOLING
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2013/037645
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The invention relates to a reciprocating steam engine having a working cylinder (2) and a working piston (3) received in the working cylinder so as to be longitudinally movable. The working cylinder can be filled via at least one inlet valve (9e) with a single-component or multi-component working medium. The working medium can be removed from the working cylinder via at least one outlet valve (9a). To this end the inlet and outlet valves can be controlled so that the working piston can be acted upon by gaseous pressurised working medium in order to perform lifting work. After expansion, in an expulsion phase the working medium can be expelled from the working cylinder by means of the working piston. The reciprocating steam engine also has spray devices (20) for spraying in at least one component of the working medium as an aerosol condensate during a compression phase. During operation of a reciprocating steam engine with an arrangement of spray devices according to the invention aerosol condensate is sprayed into the working cylinder in the phase in which the working piston moves from the bottom dead centre in the direction of the top dead centre.
