Abstract:
Provided is a jigsaw that can be made compact by reducing the length of a housing in a direction along the axial line of an output shaft. This jigsaw (1), which is equipped with a plunger (22) that is installed in a housing (3) and supports a saw blade (21) in such a manner that the saw blade can reciprocate and a motor (2) that is installed in the housing (3), an output shaft (4) of which is switched between normal rotation and reverse rotation in order to cause the plunger (22) to reciprocate, has: a weight (24) that is installed in the housing (3) in such a manner that the weight can reciprocate in the reciprocating direction of the plunger (22); a first motion conversion section (A1) that converts the rotational force of the output shaft (4) into a reciprocating force for the plunger (22); and a second motion conversion section (A2) that converts the rotational force of the output shaft (4) into a reciprocating force for the weight (24).
