Abstract:
Disclosed is a reclining bed which reduces the burden imposed on the body of a recumbent person when raising the upper half of the body. In this bed (1), an upper half body-receiving base (5) for receiving the upper half body of the recumbent person has: a reclinable back-receiving base (9) that receives a prescribed part of the recumbent person's upper half body that is lower than the shoulders; and a reclinable shoulder-receiving base (10) for receiving at least the shoulders and a portion higher than the shoulders of the recumbent person's body. When the recumbent person's upper half body is to be raised, the shoulder-receiving base (10) bends forward with respect to the back-receiving base (9) so as to raise the shoulders and the head of the recumbent person.
