Abstract:
The child safety seat (10) includes a seat body (12) having a seat bottom and a seat back. The seat bottom is slidably connected to a first portion of the base (14) and the seat back is slidably connected to a second portion of the base (14). The seat body (12) is movable relative to the base (14), namely, between a resting position and ride down position. A dampening member (60) is connected between the seat body (12) and the base (14) for dampening/retarding the movement of the seat body (12) from the resting position to the ride down position. The dampening member (60) is preferably partially oriented yarn that is no longer usable after use, such as in the event of an accident. The recline angle of the seat body (12) relative to the base (14) is adjustable.
