Abstract:
The present invention pertains to a recoil starter (10) whereby an engine is started by pulling a recoil rope (70). In a reel (20) that winds up the recoil rope (70): a knot-holding section (22) that holds a knot (72) of the recoil rope (70) opens to a cover (12) side; a window (16) through which the knot (72) of the recoil rope (70) can be inserted is provided in the cover (12); the knot-holding section (22) and the window (16) can communicate; and the recoil rope (70) can be replaced through the window (16) without removing the cover (12).
