Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to develop a method for efficiently producing D-BT from D-xylose, using yeast (S. cerevisiae). This recombinant host cell includes: (A) at least one type of heterologous polynucleotide coding for an iron-sulfur protein (Fe-S protein); and (B) at least one type of heterologous polynucleotide coding for a protein that controls the biosynthesis of the iron-sulfur protein. It is preferable that the recombinant host cell also includes (C) at least one type of heterologous polynucleotide coding for other enzymes involved in the xylose metabolic pathway.
