Abstract:
The present invention relates to a recombinant microorganism for producing mevalonic acid and a method for producing mevalonic acid using same, wherein the recombinant microorganism is a methanotroph that expresses an enzyme for producing mevalonic acid and can thus effectively produce mevalonic acid in large quantities using methane gas present in the atmosphere, and the mevalonic acid can be used to produce industrial high value-added substances.
