Title:
RECOMBINANT MICROORGANISMS HAVING TEREPHTHALIC ACID PRODUCTIVITY, AND TEREPHTHALIC ACID PREPARATION METHOD USING SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2015/190632
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention relates to recombinant microorganisms having terephthalic acid productivity and a terephthalic acid preparation method using same and particularly to: a recombinant microorganism for terephthalic acid production from p-xylene having, introduced therein, xlMA, xylC, tsaMB, tsaC, and tsaD, which are genes for coding enzymes involved in a terephthalic acid metabolic pathway; a recombinant microorganism for terephthalic acid production from p-toluic acid having tsaMB, tsaC, and tsaD introduced therein; and a terephthalic acid preparation method using same. The recombinant microorganisms for terephthalic acid production according to the present invention, prepared by means of the metabolic engineering of microorganisms having no terephthalic acid productivity, allow the preparation of terephthalic acid purely by biological processes without chemical catalytic reactions from renewable carbon-cycle biomass and thus are useful as microorganisms for the industrial production of terephthalic acid.
