The invention provides a recombinant protein capable of binding specifically and rapidly to human cardiac troponin I. The invention is a recombinant protein that binds specifically to troponin I derived from the human myocardium, and is furnished with the following: a light chain variable region comprising an amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 63, and a heavy chain variable region comprising an amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 65.
