Abstract:
The present invention provides a recording device that efficiently performs automatic recording according to the viewing state of a user. A television recording device 1 capable of controlling recording of a broadcast program in cooperation with a portable terminal device 2 is provided with: a communication unit 106 which communicates with the portable terminal device carried by a user that views the broadcast program; and a control unit (CPU 101) which acquires information relating to the viewing state of the user from the portable terminal device 2, and controls the recording operation of a recording unit 104. The information relating to the viewing state of the user includes information relating to the manipulation of the portable terminal device by the user. The control unit causes the recording unit to start the recording of the broadcast program if the information relating to the manipulation is not acquired while the same broadcast program is being displayed for a predetermined time, and causes the recording unit to stop the recording of the broadcast program if the information relating to the manipulation is acquired during the recording.
