Abstract:

Provided is a recording medium in which extents of a base view and a dependent view are alternately arranged. The size of the base view extent is defined by greater one of a first lower limit value and a second lower limit value. The size of the dependent view extent is defined by a third lower limit value. The first lower limit value is determined so that no buffer underflow is caused during a jump between the base view extents while reproducing a 2D video image. The second lower limit value is determined so that no buffer underflow is caused during a read of the dependent view extent following each base view extent while reproducing a 3D video image. The third lower limit value is determined so that no buffer underflow is caused during a read of the base view extent following each dependent view extent while reproducing a 3D video image.
