Abstract:
A recording medium (100) includes (i) a first recording layer (101: HD-DVD) having a signal plane which can be read by a first laser light (405 nm) of a first wavelength, (ii) a second recording layer (102: DVD) having a signal plane which can be read by a second laser light (650 nm) of a second wavelength, and (iii) an intermediate layer (103) arranged between the first recording layer and the second recording layer. The light reflection ratio of the intermediate layer for the first laser light is a value capable of detecting a focusing point position for the first recording layer. The light reflection ratio of the intermediate layer for the second laser light is a value not capable of detecting a focusing point position for the first recording layer.
