Abstract:

　Provided is a rectangular secondary battery that makes it possible to prevent an insulating plate and collector plates from rotating and makes it possible to improve the efficiency with which the insulating plate and the collector plates are assembled, improving productivity. A rectangular secondary battery (100) provided with a winding group (3) obtained by winding electrodes overlapped with a separator interposed therebetween, collector plates (24, 44) electrically connected to the electrodes of the winding group (3), a battery container (1) for accommodating the winding group (3) together with the collector plates (24, 44), a battery lid (6) for sealing the opening part (1a) of the battery container (1), and an insulating plate (7) disposed between the battery lid and the collector plates. A convex part (17) for performing positioning relative to the collector plates is formed in the insulating plate (7), and an engaging part (27) for engaging with the convex part (17) is formed in the collector plate (24). Either a convex side surface (17a) of the convex part (17) or an engaging side surface (27a) of the engaging part (27) facing the convex side surface (17a) has a curved surface curving along the direction encircling the convex side surface (17a) of the convex part.
