Abstract:
To improve safety of a rectangular secondary battery when the rectangular secondary battery is deformed by an external pressure. A lithium ion secondary battery that comprises a power generating element wherein a positive electrode and a negative electrode are laminated, a battery can in which the power generating element is contained, a positive electrode lead wire which is connected to the positive electrode, a negative electrode lead wire which is connected to the negative electrode, and an insulating layer that is provided between the battery can and the positive electrode lead wire and between the battery can and the negative electrode lead wire. Each of the positive electrode lead wire and the negative electrode lead wire has a member that has a structure protruding toward the insulating layer.
