[PROBLEMS] An oil filter where a forged screw with a large pitch is formed on a screw fitting section of an outer tube case to enable instantaneous unscrewing and disassembly of the outer tube case. This enables the outer tube case to be used again without being discarded, and as a result, the number of components to be discarded is reduced as much as possible, and only an oil, rubber packing, and paper filter element section require replacement. The oil filter contributes to reduction in recycle cost. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] An oil filter where a circular tube-like lid section and a circular tube-like body section are screwed to each other and a filter element is fixed in them in the axial direction, wherein the lid section and the body section are made of iron and have forged threads, screw threads of the lid section and the body section are constructed from forged screws, protrusions are provided on a line extended from a pitch line of the screw thread, which is an external thread, of the lid section, the external thread has intermittent sections, the intermittent sections have the protrusions, and the screw thread, which is an internal thread, of the body section also has intermittent sections.
