DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

Referring to the drawings, there is shown two embodiment examples of a recycled unit, in accordance with the invention.

According to the first embodiment example shown in Figure 1 , the recycled unit 10 is in the shape of a block or brick.

According to the second embodiment example shown in Figure 2, the recycled unit 12 in in the shape of a tile or plate having a trough 14 on the upper side being adapted to receive and hold fluids, namely spilled oils and chemicals.

The recycled units 10 and 12 include fibrous material, paper pulp, recycled waste paper and/or recycled cardboard which have been softened and shredded in a hammer mill; soaked in water to soften it further and to assist in binding; and pressed in a solid mould to remove excess water and to enable the unit to assume a specific shape.

The invention also extends to a method for producing a recycled unit, which includes the steps

(a) of softening and shredding recycled waste paper and/or recycled cardboard in a hammer mill; (b) of soaking the softened and shredded recycled waste paper and/or recycled cardboard in water to soften it further and to assist in binding; and

(c) of pressing the recycled waste paper and/or recycled cardboard in a solid mould to remove excess water and to enable the unit to assume a specific shape.

The units are adapted to be used as a stepping mat and/or stepping stone in spilled areas such as mechanical work bays, oil and diesel storage depots and thus preventing slipping and further contamination.

The shape is determined by the specific application of the unit and can be a block.

The shape can be substantially the same as a brick and/or building block.

The method does not include any step of adding chemicals and requiring alternative energy requirements.

The recycled unit is free of chemicals.

The recycled unit is an environmentally friendly block.

The recycled unit consists exclusively of recycled material.

The recycled unit according to the invention provides for a method for cleaning chemical and/or oil spills, includes the step of soaking spilled chemical and/or oil spills by means of a recycled unit which includes recycled waste paper and/or recycled cardboard which have been softened and shredded in a hammer mill; soaked in water to soften it further and to assist in binding; and pressed in a solid mould to remove excess water and to enable the unit to assume a specific shape. The recycled unit can be used to absorb chemicals and/or oils and/or spilled chemical and/or spilled oils.

The recycled unit can be provided in circular and/or ball-shaped format.

The recycled block can be used as a fuel and/or burning units to generate heat for cooking or heating. This controls and prevents contamination and pollution of soil and ground water.

The recycled block after absorbing oil can be used as fuel and/or burning unit.

The adsorbed chemicals and/or oils can be squeezed out of the recycled unit and/or recycled.

The recycled block can be used in conjunction with drums and plastic sheets to isolate and remove spilled oils and/or spilled chemicals.

The unit is adapted to be used to separate water from spilled oil, diesel, gasoline and/or any other industrial fluids. This is due to the different absorption speeds of water and the spilled fluids, namely oil, diesel, gasoline and/or any other industrial fluids, hence the locations of the fluids within the recycled unit are different. The separation may be due to different absorptions rates and/or different evaporation rates.

The invention includes a method for separating water from spilled oil, diesel, gasoline and/or any other industrial fluids, which includes the steps of soaking water and spilled chemical and/or oil spills by means of a recycled unit, which includes fibrous material, paper pulp, recycled waste paper and/or recycled cardboard which have been softened and shredded in a hammer mill; soaked in water to soften it further and to assist in binding; and pressed in a solid mould to remove excess water and to enable the unit to assume a specific shape; and of allowing the water to evaporate and/or separating the water-soaked part of the recycled unit from the part of the recycled unit soaked with the spilled oil, diesel, gasoline and/or any other industrial fluids.
