Abstract:
Provided is a zirconia sintered body utilizing the coloring of cerium oxide to produce a bright red. The zirconia sintered body is characterized by including at least 0.5 mol% to less than 4 mol% of cerium oxides as calculated for CeO2, at least 2 mol% to less than 6 mol% of yttria, at least 0.1 wt% to less than 2 wt% of aluminum oxides and a balance of zirconia, the cerium oxides including trivalent cerium, and the crystal structure of the zirconia including tetragons.
