Abstract:
The present invention relates to a reduced iron production method using an electrowinning method, and reduced iron produced thereby, the reduced iron production method comprising the steps of: producing a mixture by mixing iron oxide (Fe2O3) with a solid electrolyte containing sodium peroxide (Na2O2) and boron oxide (B2O3); and forming iron at an insoluble cathode by injecting the mixture into an electrowinning device having an anode and the cathode, forming molten oxide by heating same, and then applying a voltage to the anode and the cathode. Thus, reduced iron in a pure iron state may be obtained by reducing iron oxide by means of an electrowinning method. Obtaining pure iron by smelting iron ore is very difficult, but reduced iron in a pure iron state may be obtained by using an electrowinning method in which an electrolyte composition and conditions for electrolysis are controlled.
