Abstract:
A reflection-type sensor for beaming light onto a subject from a light-emitting element and receiving light reflected by the subject, wherein light is prevented from entering a light-receiving element except during detection of the substrate while eliminating the effect of ambient light. A light-shielding plate 12 is provided so as to cover a light transmission part 11b of a case body 11 in which a light-emitting element and a light-receiving element are provided in the interior, the light-shielding plate 12 being provided so as to leave a gap, for passing the subject therethrough, with respect to the surface 11a of the case body 11 on which the light transmission part 11b is formed. A rib 12b is formed on a surface 12a of the light-shielding plate 12, and has a first inclined surface at an acute angle with the surface 12a when viewed from the longitudinal direction. The light-emitting element is such that a plane that passes through the substantial center of the light-emitting element, intersects in a substantially orthogonal manner with the surface 11a, and extends along the longitudinal direction of the rib 12b intersects with the first inclined surface.
