Abstract:
A reflective spatial light modulator that comprises: an electro-optic crystal that has an input surface into which input light is inputted and a back surface that is opposite the input surface; a light input/output part that is arranged on the input surface of the electro-optic crystal and has a first electrode that transmits the input light; a light reflection part that is arranged on the back surface of the electro-optic crystal and includes a substrate and an adhesive layer that fixes the substrate to the back surface, the substrate including a plurality of second electrodes; and a drive circuit that applies an electric field between the first electrode and the plurality of second electrodes. The substrate includes: a pixel region on which the plurality of second electrodes are arranged; and a peripheral region that surrounds the pixel region. The adhesive layer has: a first region that faces the pixel region; and a second region that surrounds the first region. The adhesive layer includes a dielectric material in a cured product of a non-conductive adhesive material. The dielectric material content of the second region is lower than the dielectric material content of the first region.
